Following the release of Cubit 8, our development team has been working hard to deliver you more features that offer you greater control over your estimating.
We’re taking Natural Estimating further, with Cubit 8.1. Here’s a look at what’s included.
Access new controls in your estimate.
We’ve given you access to more controls in your estimate, offering you a new way to view your data and making Cubit even easier to use.
You can now choose the way you see your data, at the click of a button. Using the new view buttons in your Item Sheet, you can change between showing only your trades, showing all items, and just showing entire selected trades.
We’ve also given you greater control over the way you build-up your estimate. Using the new buttons you can add a Trade, a Heading, and add an Item directly into your estimate; Giving you the ability to create your estimate quicker than ever before, so you can the job done faster.
There are also shortcut keys for each of the new estimate controls. You can download a full list of the shortcuts within Cubit here.
Add more information in the Job Manager
We’ve received lots of feedback about the way you work with Cubit’s Job Manager. We’ve listened and have been working to refine it to give you the functionality you want, and access to the information you need.
We have updated the buttons available in the ribbon to give you the instant ability to create a new Job, Project or Price List, without having to select them from a drop down list.
We’ve also given you more information about your job, with the addition of Job Totals. Now you can see the total of a job and the composition of that total, including the estimate, adjustment, subtotal, tax and variations.
One of our customer-requested enhancements is the ability to add more data into the Job Manager. Cubit 8.1 introduces a new Tender section with additional fields so you can include more of the information you want, and have greater control over your job. The new fields include tender number, start date, close date, contract type, win chance and approximate cost.
There’s also a new Account Manager section, where you can enter a name, email and phone number.
Prepare to integrate with Cubit Select, our new cost comparison solution.
Cubit 8.1 gives you the ability to integrate with our new cost comparison solution, Cubit Select. Cubit Pro users with a Cubit Select account will be able to send a job to Cubit Select, where you can compare quotes and pick supplier rates; then receive those rates directly back into your estimate.
You’ll also be able to generate Cubit Select Comparison Reports, so you can compare your estimate to your new picked rates.

Improve the way you work with rates
We’ve introduced another user requested feature; the ability to adjust rates based on the grouping code that was used for them.
Using the new Adjust Rate By Code window, you’ll be able to select specific rate codes you and adjust them by a percentage or value, or change them to a specific value. This will change all of the items with that rate code assigned to them.
This gives you the ability to be more agile, so you can identify areas that you can change quickly to allow for opportunities and market changes.
Bill of Quantity Improvements
Producing a Bill of Quantities is essential for many professionals, and we’ve enhanced the options available for you to customise your reports.
You can now select the font you’d like to use and add a logo to your reports, so you can remain consistent with your branding and making them more professional.
