Frequently asked questions, answered.

What is the difference between subscribing to Cubit and buying Cubit?

We provide our customers with different options to use Cubit for their estimating needs.

Subscribing to Cubit means you have the flexibility to use Cubit for your estimating needs with no large upfront licencing fee. Your subscription fee provides you with access to Cubit’s extensive range of estimating and takeoff features, software updates, major upgrades, and technical support.

Buying licences of Cubit means you pay a licencing fee upfront, which is a little dearer, however there are no additional licencing fees. We provide all new customers with 12 months of complementary Software Assurance with their first purchase of Cubit. There is an additional charge if you choose to continue your Software Assurance cover beyond the first 12 months.

If you're unsure which option suits your circumstances, our Product Consultants can assist you through this process.

What is the minimum contract term for a Cubit subscription?

A Cubit subscription has a minimum 12 month term. Longer terms are available through discussion with Buildsoft.

Do I need an internet connection to use Cubit?

You will require an internet connection to activate the software for first time use. It is not required for ongoing use of the software.

Does Cubit run on a Mac?

Yes, you can run Cubit on a Mac. Cubit is Windows-based software, so you’ll need to run Windows on a Mac by either booting to Windows using Apple’s Boot Camp or running in a virtual machine using Parallels.

How easy is the installation process?

The installation process is relatively easy, and we've even outlined the process in our Installation Guide you receive when you trial, buy or subscribe to Cubit.

If you don't have the time, our Support team offers installation services for an additional fee - $69+gst per licence for standalone licences, or from $295+gst for networked setups.
