BUILDING AN INDUSTRY FROM THE GROUND UP

MiTek Australia acquires Buildsoft Pty Ltd

An announcement by Jim Cunningham – Director Buildsoft Pty Ltd   
    
Today I am pleased to announce that as of July 1, 2008, Buildsoft Pty Ltd has been acquired by MiTek Australia.   

MiTek Australia Ltd is the leading supplier of connector products, engineering software and services, and manufacturing machinery to the truss fabrication industry in the Asia-Pacific region. MiTek Australia is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc, a holding company owning other subsidiaries that engage in a number of diverse business activities including property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, utilities and energy, finance, manufacturing, services and retailing. Numerous business activities are conducted through Berkshire’s other manufacturing services and retailing subsidiaries, from architectural and industrial coatings through to furnishings.   

Jackie Fogg and myself will remain as directors of Buildsoft Pty Ltd reporting to Stephen Fray, Group Managing Director, MiTek Asia Pacific and Africa. I am exceptionally pleased that our enthusiastic Buildsoft Pty Ltd staff will also remain with the company.
The company will continue to function as it has in the past and will operate as a separate subsidiary of MiTek.

Some of you have been with us since the beginning and your support has meant the world to us. We will never forget it. 

Thank you to our loyal Australian and Overseas distributor network for spreading the Buildsoft message and letting us know what is required for the future by our customers. And a special ‘G’day’ to Pat and George and the staff at Building Software Services who look after European distribution and who have been so supportive for so many years. It has been a privilege for me to be able to work with you all to build a successful company. I look forward to continued success for all of us. 

We are all very excited to be part of MiTek Australia and the Berkshire Hathaway team. The combination of Buildsoft and MiTek will allow us to better serve our customers and expand our markets through new and innovative products. We have a very strong presence in the Australian market and, with new developments already underway, expect to further enhance our penetration into international markets.
